Fit and limits
When ESG insights are not the right layer
Mercura surfaces environmental data on configured products and quotes. It supports sales-ready footprint signals; it does not replace a full LCA programme or statutory sustainability audit.
No product or LCA data foundation
Footprint calculations need material factors and a defined product model. If LCA data does not exist yet, start with product modelling and your LCA source, not CPQ screens.
Regulatory reporting without configuration context
Annual ESG disclosures and audit-ready Scope 3 programmes need finance and sustainability ownership. CPQ adds configuration-level carbon on quotes; it does not file your report.
Configuration happens outside Mercura
ESG insights attach to configurations created in Mercura. If quoting still happens in Excel, there is nothing consistent to calculate against.
Replacing LCA consultants or LCA software
Mercura integrates with LCA systems where you connect them. Methodology choice, verification, and sign-off remain your sustainability team's responsibility.
